Love Actually…

I met up with this couple in Winnfield last week-  just NOW getting to post a few…  I’m a little behind- so if you are waiting on an album- I’m working on it! Don’t give up on me just yet….

This is gonna be picture overload I know- but I can’t help it…. I’m so happy with these - and I get attached to the people in them too.. so I want to show them off…  That’s one thing I really like about engagement sessions- I get to meet both people, which helps me at the wedding but I leave with new friends!  (Hi Gena!!!!  lol )  

A word on locations- it doesn’t have to be anything special or elaborate-  some of these were taken in a parking lot of them just having fun- which is what makes great pictures!   Relax and live the moment….

A little preview for the mom of these two beauties….  

Maybe it was the moon or maybe it was these girls distracting everyone- because downtown was CRAZY the afternoon the girls came for their session!  Arrests and car accidents…  my camera wasn’t distracted though and I got some great shots!  Oh the light was good and wind was just right too- which adds a little drama!! Sometimes things just come together for great results….

Taking the town By STORM!

Bring a gorgeous girl into town- and things get turned completely upside down…  we had people congregating at gas pumps to watch her.  THEN we even got a visit from the town cops when we moved to the railroad tracks…  which I suppose isn’t all that legal.. lol

So, all of you Ollanites… if you see a crazy lady hauling a chair around (I love my new $5 chair).. or laying in the middle of the road, it’s just me taking pictures again!

The Ashley girls are ALWAYS soooo fun to work with- adorable children inside and out… but honestly I do love taking their father’s money- hehehe-  I suspect he’ll have to work a few extra shifts after he sees what my camera caught!

Give a girl a camera and let her go!!!   This little girl was acting just a tiny bit shy (which I hear from her aunt Katie is TOTALLY out of character).. so I asked if she’d ever wanted to be a model?  Of course- this was her chance and did she ever came alive! 

 

 

LANETTE & JASON

I photographed my first wedding of the year this weekend in Vidalia- my feet weren’t quite ready for it- but I had a wonderful time- perfectly sweet couple! Lanette just happens to be my third cousin!  These two were so great with each other- and completely ignored me  when I stole them away for a few minutes outside just like they should have!  I don’t take many weddings- but when I do it makes me really wish that everyone could have a few hours to take pictures sometime during the wedding day-

But to the brides and grooms who want great images- we need some time! I know that the day is so rushed- but surely we can figure out how to give us some time to get these shots that we all want!

The Sweetest Thing….

All I can say is-

awwwwwww……. *sigh*  how sweet is this baby?- just 15 days old…

What’s your Child’s Story?

I’ve been talking alot to people this week about Headshots and close ups since I posted my Mini Mugshot Session idea…. I’m excited to get going on my sessions on the 13th- but I may have mentioned before that I’ve been taking a workshop with an awesome photographer.  There was a recent assignment that was simple enough -

show emotion without showing expression, tell a story of a child without showing the face… 

At first glance- EASY-  but not really!  How do you show who your child is without showing their face?  How do you pass all those emotions and personality on and into an image…  I spent some time really reflecting on Claire’s story- what makes her unique and so special-  and  now I have some images that I love (without a single face…).  The images at the top of this screen are all a result of that assignment…  I’m grateful for the lesson I learned about photography- but I’m even more grateful for the insights and appreciation I have now for my kids…
