Christmas Bride

I met with Miss Holly, a name perfect for Christmas to begin with, at Beidenharn where they were deep in preparations and decorating for Christmas. We all fell in love with the poinsettas.  Not only that, but Holly had the perfect skin tone to compliment the setting- a beautiful creamy complexion!  I am dissappointed though, she getting married at Orange Beach late in December. I’m going to miss that wedding- but I’ll have something else to keep me busy! 

Speaking of- the countdown is on- 19 days til BABY DAY!!!!!!! and yes, I’m still working!

Fairy Tale Bride…

Doesn’t she look straight out of a fairy tale?   I can promise that she’s very real- and absolutely breathtaking!  There’s something surreal about the first image below.  It has a magical, mystical quality that is usually not in my “style”.  I think I may work more for this style!  I know it has nothing to do with me, since this bride was such a natural.   

I also loved the locations this mom and bride picked out- we first went to a swamp where there was this tiny old steel bridge stretched across a bayou.  There were tall cypress trees, moss and cypress knees… beautifully serene.  I had so many ideas… if only I wasn’t 9 months pregnant and trying to climb around on a bridge that I was afraid may fall in underneath me!  They had brought along help, and I took one of the ladies as my spotter- or camera catcher- if I fell over.   The second location was something that I could have only dreamt about.  It took a little driving and ALOT of walking, but when we turned down this ally, I got goose bumps.  This victorian couch was sitting, waiting out in the middle of the lane- so excited!!! I think I let out a little squeal when I saw it.    It all equated to perfection!

The Roberts

I finally got to see these two last week- after rescheduling countless times!  I felt like I had known this mom for years!

It didn’t take long for the two of them to get comfy with me, in fact right away I given a few tips on how my mom needed to upgrade her truck!   I drove to this session in my mom’s truck, since I brought my chair!  I was excited to use it with these guys.  I know it’s old, worn out and ugly, but I love it!

 

   

Santa Baby #2…

was a sweet chubby little thing!  I’m not sure how many more of these Santa Babies that I’m going to get this year, but I’ll be sure to post each of them…  since they just can’t help but make you smile!

This will be one of my backdrops for Christmas Portraits on Tuesday- loveing the plaid the background! 

Family of Six…

So I’ll be honest, I went into this shoot thinking it was going to be tough-  4 kids (heck, 2 at my house is chaos).  My experience had me thinking that this had to be at least twice as bad……. and……………….  NO!!!  I was so wrong.  It was really a great shoot and the kids were awesome!  

This family also gives me hope…   that even with 3 kids (4 in their case), it is possible to dress everyone in clean, not to mention matching clothes, have everyone’s face clean, hair brushed and then get dressed and put on makeup myself!  I can barely manage all that now with only two-  so I hope this mom won’t mind if I give her call now and then asking for some tips! 

Here are the Spanglers-  with a new baby that I had an extra bit of softness for..  maybe it has something to do with the fact that my son and this baby have the same name.  I’m also considering one of her other children’s name for my own baby… I think I may use it after seeing one of her little boys!

Ordinary Miracles

Big Girl Breanna and a little news…

Okay, so she’s not that big… but to me she has grown by leap and bounds!  I saw her back in April when she couldn’t sit up and now she’s standing and taking steps.  Time flies…   Thankfully she wasn’t too fast, she was a trooper sitting in the wet grass and leaves.  It had just downpoured and Breanna and I got both a touch wet.   I got some cute pictures of her trying to lift her legs off the wet leaves, but we’ll save those for mom.  I had to blog these!   

Also- I just can’t believe my luck lately, I’m getting such great eyes to work with.  First Ava and now Breanna!  It’s reminding me that I have a little boy with quite the set of baby blues too, he’s been overlooked for too long!

An update of Holiday Sessions….  I am booked for Christmas, with the exception of 2 spots left for Christmas mini sessions on the 20th.  I never like saying no, but I won’t be able to take anymore sessions until Feb.  I have even tried to turn my own mother down!   If you have a baby expected before the holidays and would like a shoot, contact me and we can work something out for that.  I have several babies due soon and will work my hardest to fit in newborns (I prefer newborns within the first 14 days).    As for the me, I’m doing my last appointments the first week of December and then I’m taking off from shooting until I have my own newborn.  I will still be in the studio taking and doing orders until I have the baby.   If you had your session canceled, don’t worry, I will reschedule your appointment to get you in before I take off. 

REMINDER***  Christmas Mini Sessions are November 20th, NOT the 27th like previously planned!   I will calling to confirm appointments!

Also, a big THANK YOU to Sara Grubs, Sole-Fulla Love who came from Shreveport and worked her tail off!  Talk about a hardworker- she must have seen and painted more than 40 little feet on Friday!  I wasn’t working like she was, and I was tired from all of it.  Thanks again Sara for coming and offering your unique talent to us here!    

Worth the wait…

I had to blog just one from this afternoon’s session with a wide awake 12 day old baby girl.  She was just a touch fussy and certainly not going to sleep, so we’ll try to get some more of later in the week.   For now- take a peek at this one image….  how tiny is she in her daddy’s hands?
