Here’s another engagement session that I shot right before baby. You may remember this bride from the couch pictures? We met at another great location- a walking trail that had a small bridge which crossed over a river. I know they have been really waiting anxiously for these!
Christmas is over, for the most part, the new baby is doing SO much better and finally gaining weight like a champ! I know haven’t said much about the problems we had, but for about the first 2 weeks, I was a complete mess. I’m finally coming out of my dazed and confused stage and ready to get to get some work done. I know things got a bit behind when Spencer decided to come early. So, having finally settled into a little routine here at home, and feeling much better- I’m going to start putting pictures online! If you have been waiting on a session (or wedding…..) from me, like the couple below- expect to be getting a call from me soon.
So here is a great couple that I photographed in Alexandria just two short days before I started having problems and Spencer was born! They were my last official session before I was going to take my break! Funny how things work out- but I had a blast with their session, and I think they did too- you can just tell it in their pictures. I’m excited about the wedding and won’t have to wait long- just two months!
Here they are- I couldn’t be happier with the spots we found just walking in downtown Alexandria! AWESOME, AWESOME!
I have been waiting for this little guy, with all these plans for pictures. Turns out, he was 10 days old before I finally was able to take even a few! Things certainly haven’t gone exactly as I would like or expect, lots of worry- but I wanted to show off just a few of my new little man.
Isn’t it ironic that I’m always telling moms to bring babies to me within the first two weeks. Here I am struggling to get pictures of my own newborn within that time frame! I also love sleeping newborn pictures, and wouldn’t you know it? Spencer won’t sleep at all when I try to get a few pictures! Here is my Spencer-

I just wanted to take a moment to give everyone an update on Shanna and Spencers conditions. There have been a few complications for both of them over the last several days since his arrival and we are working through them one day at a time. For those of you looking for pictures and so forth I ask for your patience and understanding and we will do what we can when feasible. We ask for your continued support along with your thoughts and prayers!

Just an update- We are still here in the hospital and are hoping to come home soon! If anyone wants to say a little prayer, we’d appreciate it.
I know there are many of you waiting for your sessions to be online. I really feel badly about the delay and will get them up as soon as I can. Thanks for understanding my situation.
Everything about this baby has been a surprise, from finding out we were expecting to the way that he was born! After some complications Spencer was born three weeks early. He was born December 6th, 2007 at 8:45 a.m. weighing in at 7 ounds 13 oz and was 20 inches long. His birth was so unexpected that I didn’t even bring a bag or my camera. I will post more details later but Spencer and I are doing fine! And feel free to tell me what a gorgeous baby he is!!!!
my own kids???? YES! It is my kids, who rarely make an appearance on this blog. I suppose it was time to take a picture or two of them for Christmas. I get asked all the time if my kids are sick of my camera- and sadly… no. They are really more neglected than I’d like to admit! So today, I finally had a few minutes. So I got them dressed quickly and we had a very fast, very quick 10 minute session. That was all I had in me. Stu was even helping and he left 5 or so minutes into it! I wouldn’t compare it to the high seas in a Cat 5 hurricane, but whew! How can I take an hour or more with other’s kids, or do Christmas sessions all day long never losing my cool- yet in 10 mins, one of mine is running around like a wild child begging to take more pictures over here or down there or up here… and the other one is crying, has a scrape down her leg and refusing to be put down? Here they are though- the most adorable little kids around… lol
well, maybe not right now (since they are screaming at each other while I write this post!)

She’s been married for 2 months and the dress still fits! That’s reason enough to be proud- I know for certain that mine didn’t!
