The ties that bind

I love this little family and watching this little one grow!  I saw him for newborn pictures, 6 months, 9 months and 1 year.  He’s two now, so it was time to take him outside!  We tried a few shots on the sidewalk and it was clear very quickly that we needed to get to some wide open spaces!  The street was calling his name and that’s not good simply because:   He is a runner.   We headed out to a field to let him release a bit of energy where wasted no time and he took off.

Sometimes I talk to myself, “like get it together SHANNA!!!”  During this session, I was giving myself pep talks reminiscent of the little engine that could.   Really, I tried not to let his mom see me sweat, but I was getting worried!  I was worried about just getting something, anything in focus.  Then add the pressure of trying to create something artistic and well, those little asides I had with myself were needed!    I’d like to say these were all planned and I took my time artfully composing, but this is true shooting from the hip.  Don’t pose, just observe.

These are absolutely beautiful. My favorite is Tyson going over the handle bars. Timeless photo!
